Granules wedge between the toes and get carried straight out of the tray, which is how litter ends up in the hallway, in the kitchen, and under your bare feet at night. This is a two-layer honeycomb mat: the top sheet lets granules drop through as she walks over it, and the bottom sheet holds them — so they stop travelling right at the tray.

Traps litter instead of spreading it: Granules fall through the honeycomb top and collect between the two layers, rather than being flicked across the floor.

Empties back into the tray: Lift the top sheet and tip the collected litter straight back where it came from. Nothing wasted, nothing to sweep up.

Soft on paws, so she'll walk on it: Flexible EVA rather than stiff spiked plastic — the reason cats step around a hard mat instead of over it.

Wipes clean, holds no smell: Non-absorbent EVA with no fabric to soak anything up, so it takes a wipe rather than a wash cycle.

Ends the barefoot moment: Fewer granules leaving the tray is the entire point — you stop finding them on the way to the bathroom.
